Hi Jennifer and Cheryl,
Just a quick note to let you know that Jasper is doing very well.  He is so quick to learn and already seems bonded with me.  We spend an hour or so together a day, more on weekends.  He now leads easily, will longe on a line, sort of... Will tie for about 15 minutes without getting worked up.  He's not too hot about picking up his back feet, but we are working on that.  I am working on getting him to flex and have had him out in the street getting used to the "city" stuff.  He turns heads whenever we go out and loves the attention.  I love him to bits and my two goats like him, too!  They are a trio, sleeping and eating together.  I did have to have the vet out, as his eyes got infected.  He loves to roll in the sand and I guess too much got in there.  But I'm on top of that and he's much better.  His name is now Thor Fjord, just Thor for short.  Tigger just didn't stick!
Thanks for an incredible horse!
Jane

Hi Jennifer and Cheryl,
I wanted to write to you and tell you how well Jasper (aka Thor) is doing with his training.  Barbara Robinson is helping me train him to drive.  He had his first lesson last week and did great.  He kicked out once then settled down and went to work.  It was his first time with a bit and bridle on, and only the second time in a harness.  Barbara commented that she couldn't believe he had never been driven before, as he took to it so well.  I even tried my hand at driving him (I'd never driven a horse before) and he walked out and turned for me.  I am so excited about working with him.  He is a wonderful horse!

Hi Jennifer and Cheryl,
I just thought you'd like an update on Thor.  He was coming along with his training to drive but had gotten into the habit of bolting--not good!  So Barbara set me up with Bruce Griffin, a trainer in Lompoc.  Bruce has been working with Thor (and me!) and training Thor to ride.  I have so much enjoyed working with Bruce and have learned so much.  Thor is coming along very nicely and is a pleasure to ride.  One of these days, it will be back to training to drive as that is something I still want to do with him.  By the way, everyone loves Thor and I have had a number of people inquire about him.  He is a very handsome horse with the best personality.  Attached are a couple recent pictures of him.  One is under saddle with Bruce up.
